Trump, the Cynical Choice for President?
Before these words can be taken out of context, let me begin by saying that I am not at all a Trump supporter. In fact, I think he is a loathsome, repulsive, incompetent, contemptible, white supremacist, xenophobic, misogynistic, neurotic, and ignorant human being. I did not vote for him in 2016–nor did I vote for Clinton — as I am against nearly all that he represents and stands for. But now that Joe Biden is all but guaranteed to be his opponent as the candidate of the Democratic Party, I have been asking myself the following question over and over again: Is Biden really the better candidate?
Many of my critiques of Trump equally apply to Biden. He, like Trump, has been legitimately accused of sexual assault. He, like Trump, is corrupt and has used his political position to enrich himself and his family. He, like Trump, is a racist, but Biden, as a Democrat, has been better about covering up his racism. Malcolm X warned us about so-called liberals and how racist they often are, and like Malcolm X, I think it is better to know when someone is open about her/his racism than when someone claims not to be a racist but is ultimately lying about it.
